#FridayFacts – Magnesium

In various scientific studies it has been observed that magnesium deficiency may result in hypertension. Magnesium deficiency with normal nutrition can often not be completely compensated. The causes are many: A lack of magnesium, for example, by increased absorption of magnesium in the bones arises.
Depending on the doses, magnesium tablets therapy has been shown to lower both upper and lower blood pressure levels up to 20 mmHg. Recent studies also show that the so-called pulse pressure is favorably influenced by magnesium therapy. The regular intake of magnesium in the form of suitable magnesium supplements can lower blood pressure, reduce vascular calcifications and positively influence lipid metabolism disorders.
